Taking inspiration from the likes of John Williams and Thomas Newman, music composer Miro Abbaticchio is driven to become a name in the Classical music world, continually composing and crafting original musical compositions. Blending together diverse musical styles, with his own personal, characteristic elements, the artist is going to work on compositions for documentaries and soundtracks with keyboards and computers, in a planned live project titled “TRAILERS”.
Set to become the face of Classical music, Miro is driven to enthrall listeners and form his own unique brand of music, under the purview of his dynamic MICROM PROJECT. Winner of the SONORA Award 2008 for Best Show, the artist is a seasoned talent, having obtained two diplomas at the Vienna Conservatory of Music and a piano diploma with full marks at the “N. Piccinni” of Bari.
Born in Naples and currently living in Bari, Miro graduated in Literature and Philosophy with a specialization in Music (DAMS) at the University of Bologna with a thesis in aesthetics on the "Poetics of George Gershwin". The artist also attended a piano specialization course in Bologna (two pianos and four hands piano) and has participated in various film composition and music competitions.
Dedicating himself fully to the transcriptions of film music (from the 1930s to the present day), Miro Abbaticchio remains inspired with the aim of diligently promulgating a particular kind of repertoire in concert halls.
The dynamic artist also recorded a cycle of television broadcasts on TV2000, which were dedicated to cinema music and published for Multimedia San Paolo- a two-piano cd dedicated to the music of biblical films including Quo Vadis, Ben-Hur, The Robe and others-titled ‘Shophar’.
In 2016, Miro Abbaticchio recorded an original album titled ‘Piani d'Istanti (two pianos)’, consisting of musical compositions dedicated to the sea, water, colors, lighthouses. In 2019, the eclectic artist began his solo musical voyage with “Microm”, a double album consisting of 24 original songs dedicated to the elements of space, to the canyons, to Friedrich II (Puer Apuliae), and to the Roman Legions.
Recently, Miro Abbaticchio and his MICROM PROJECT released a new work titled ‘A Quiet Land’- a journey through nature, landscapes and history of Magna Graecia and Latin roots, featuring the artistic genius of the composer, performer and arranger.
Miro Abbaticchio has also had the privilege of participating in various film composition and music competitions, for the Jubilee he also participated in a concert for two pianos in the Vatican, performing music from biblical films (Ben-Hur, Mosé, The King of the Kings, etc.), enjoying enormous success with both audiences and critics alike. His next musical release is a mass for solos, choir and virtual orchestra with the help of keyboards and electronic sounds.
